At last the Summer term is upon us, enabling us to enjoy our wonderful environment with outdoor learning, sports events and sunny playtimes.
It is also a term in which the Year 2s will consolidate their learning and show us their achievements. Year 1s will continue to enjoy a practical, focussed curriculum.
Our Topic for the first half of the term will start with Springtime, discovering how different animals adapt and grow at this time of the year. The children will present their work during the Family Collective Worship on Friday 28th April. We will then look at the habitats of different animals - fields, woods, ponds and micro-habitats. Also the children will learn how different animals fit into the food chain.
After the half-term break we will be exploring Flight - kites, hot-air balloons, gliders, aeroplanes, spacecraft. We will cover aspects of Design and Technology, History, Geography, Science and Art. Lots of discovery and investigation, trial and error!
Please remember that Mighty Mouse is an important part of our Geography curriculum and he would really like to have some adventurous weekends, visiting new places.
Every day children should bring their bookbag, reading book and water bottle to school. Also, PE kits should be in school every day, especially with the warmer weather approaching. All jumpers and cardigans should be named please.
