Dear Parents and Visitors,
After a very busy and exciting Autumn Term, Sycamore Class are planning to settle down to some good quality basic skills learning - the emphasis this term will be on Phonics, Spellings, Reading, Writing and Maths.
Our topic will be Awesome Arctic - an exploration of the challenges that people and animals face when living in this extreme environment. We will be comparing lifestyles and environments with those in the Bedfordshire countryside. We will also think about how this frozen world can be preserved.
During the second half of the term, we will be investigating Materials in Science - why are certain products chosen for specific purposes? What are their properties? How can we carry out a fair test? Can we build Eeyore a new home?
P.E. will continue on a Monday and Wednesday afternoon. Please provide your child with outdoor as well as indoor clothing. The Year 1s are looking forward to showing their skills in a Gym Display to other local schools in January. Year 2s will have a similar athletics event in the Summer term.
Please speak to me after school any day, if you have and questions or concerns.
Mrs J Rhodes
