Oak - Reception

Welcome to Oak Class - Summer Term 2021

Welcome back to school.

We hope that you had a lovely Easter holiday and that you had an opportunity to get out and about and see friends and family.

Children in Oak Class have four carpet lessons throughout the day interspersed with continuous provision where they are able to select their own learning activities and resources.   With the sunnier and warmer weather coming, we will be spending lots of time outdoors and making the most of our beautiful natural environment.

Each day the children come together for literacy, phonics, mathematics and story time and the carpet sessions are scheduled so that children can explore the taught content in their play, exploring and testing their ideas.  Mrs White and I interact with children in their activities, scaffolding and extending their learning and discussing their understanding.

We will be restarting our focus child weeks with effect from Monday 19th April 2021 and you will receive a feedback sheet to complete on the Friday before your child's focus week begins.  Uploading of observations of activities that your child has done at home are actively encouraged and provide us with valuable insight into your child's interests.   After the focus week, an observation with photographs and videos will then be published on Tapestry for parents to see.

As always I am happy to discuss any queries, concerns or answer any questions you may have.  You can catch me at drop off or collection or email me on my class email which is detailed below.

We are looking forward to a summer term full of exploring, playing and of course sharing your child's learning and development.

With my very best wishes.
