World Book Day 2017
We had a fantastic day on Friday 3rd March when we celebrated World Book Day. The children all looked amazing in their costumes showcasing their favourite book character.
The children had brought a book in from home that they wanted to swap and in the afternoon had the opportunity to go into the hall and select a new book to take home.
You can see by their faces that a great time was had by all.
Den Day - Friday 1st July 2016
Having postponed this event from the planned 17th June, the children were all very keen to build their dens and we were very lucky to have strong parental support so that every group had adult guidance and school staff were free to co-ordinate the event and document it with lots of photographs.
The children worked so hard; planning their dens, selecting materials and putting their plan into action, building their den and writing about their work so they could present it in the Family Collective Worship. We received many comments from parents and staff about how much they enjoyed the day was and how impressive the children's teamwork and consideration for each other was.
We have had a very exciting time in Oak Class making our bug hotel. We have been collecting items for this project for the past few weeks; Mrs Richardson found us some pallets and bricks and we had a whole box of flower pots in our outdoor shed. So today (10th June) was the big day, the children worked so hard following instructions when moving the pallets and bricks so they kept themselves safe and spent the whole time suggesting how to set up the structure and which bugs they thought would use it.
We're looking forward to an exciting six weeks of watching the residents settling in and documenting what we see.
