Hello, my name is Miss Flowers and I'm the new Deputy Headteacher here at Studham Village CE Academy.
You'll see me at school on Mondays and Tuesdays teaching Woodpecker Class and on Wednesdays working with all pupils throughout the building.
When I'm not at work I love reading, cooking and spending time with my family and friends.
I'm very excited to be a part of the Studham and DSAMAT family and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know everyone. I love the rural location and think its such a beautiful place to learn!
Please don't hesitate to come and say hello if you spot me around the school!
The children of Woodpecker Class have been practising hard for their Maypole dance ready to perform at the Studham May Fair on Saturday 18th May.
We are so looking forward to showing you what they have achieved with the help of Katie Roberts from KLDance Studios!
Everyone has a vital part to play in making the Maypole designs and each individual is being counted on to come along on the day and really make this event a success!!
Today in Collective Worship, Miss Flowers discussed Earth Day.
We learnt what Earth Day was about and discussed how we invest in our Earth's future and what we can promise to do, both as individuals and as a school.
Our Eco Monitors led the way by saying how our school was kept litter free with regular litter picks, some children spoke about pollution and how they try to walk to places to minimise car use. We also looked at the wider world and how we can stop plastic getting into the sea by taking our rubbish home after a nice day out and how this would also keep animals in our oceans safe from harm.
Earth Day has been celebrated since 1970.
The official theme for 2024 is "Planet vs. Plastics."

Studham Village CE Academy welcomed Anna Rogers the new CEO of our DSAMAT.
Anna toured our school and spoke to our children who shared their love for learning.
Ahead of our planned whole school visit in the autumn term, our staff visited Windsor Castle for a pre-visit tour and to see the learning hub facilities they offer.
We are very much looking forward to taking our children and learning more about our history and the royal family.
It was very touching to visit the burial place of our late Queen and we believe that the children will appreciate the grandeur of St Georges Chapel as well as recognising the iconic steps where Royal Ceremonies have taken place.

The IKEA judges were so impressed with our competition entry, particularly the enthusiasm shown by students and the fantastic range of sustainability actions already being taken, that they wanted to feature it in the Let’s Go Zero Climate Action Countdown video coming out next month!
Today we have had great fun wearing 'Something Funny for Money!' for Red Nose Day! Well done everyone!
