At Studham Village CE Academy, keeping children safe—both in school and online—is a core priority. As technology becomes an everyday part of children’s lives, it is important that we work together to help them navigate the digital world with confidence, awareness and care.
Even our youngest pupils can access online content through apps, games, videos and social media features, often without fully understanding the risks. Children may encounter inappropriate content, unkind behaviour, or be encouraged to share personal information. With the right guidance and supervision, however, the internet can also be a place of creativity, learning and positive connection.
To support families, we encourage all parents and carers to stay informed about the latest online trends, risks and advice. The National College provides excellent free resources specifically designed for parents, offering up‑to‑date guides, videos and tips on keeping children safe online. You can explore these resources here:

Together, we can help our children learn how to make safe choices, speak up if something worries them and develop healthy digital habits that will support them throughout their lives.
If you ever have concerns about your child’s online safety, please speak with a member of staff—we are always here to help.
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing the way we engage with technology. With AI constantly evolving and improving, it can be daunting to understand its strengths as well as its limitations. There are plenty of examples of AI out there with varying purposes, from chatbots to self-driving cars, and as such, the world of AI can be confusing to navigate at times.
The South West Grid for learning (SWGfL) hub provides resources to guide you through various elements of AI. There’s articles and guidance around how it can support you, as well as awareness of its current limitations so you and your communities can enjoy the benefits of AI safely.
