Today Owl Class got to spray water all over the school roof (and some staff cars!) when the team from Red Watch based at Dunstable Community Fire Station came to say Hi!
The children enjoyed operating the water hoses, got to climb through the fire engine and asked some really fantastic questions to get to know what the Fire Crew do to help us when we need them. Thank you Red Watch!!
Today, we hosted a successful Strategic Day with our governors, launching our exciting focus on "Awe and Wonder," and delving into how we can further embrace our Christian Distinctiveness. Our children, as always, welcomed the governors with articulate enthusiasm, sharing their perspectives on kindness, justice, and spirituality. They truly inspire us every day!
This year, we took a unique approach to celebrating the joy of reading. We used our newly installed Orienteering signs and plans to embark on a literary adventure, discovering new authors and exciting books. It was a fun and interactive way to explore the wonderful world of literature!!
We also did a "Dress to Suggest" activity where children (and adults!) could wear a "hint" or a "clue" or two that suggests their favourite book character or author (using subtle details, colours, or accessories that give a nod to your literary favourites) or they could even go all out obvious!!!! We then tried to guess each other's hidden literary identities!
We had a fantastic day of literary exploration and fun!!

Well done to these two Year 4 students who took on and won our highest maths times table level! They had to answer 60 questions on multiplying and dividing decimals in 5 minutes!! AMAZING!
What an Honour! Today at SVCEA we were visited by the High Sheriff of Bedfordshire, Bav Shah. He delighted our pupils by explaining all about his role, his outfit; including all the different elements of his bespoke jacket lining, and his sword!
Bav Shah was the youngest ever High Sheriff of the county, and one of the youngest in English history when he started his role last year. He has utilised his experience to promote youth development as well as bridge the gaps between younger and older communities with a firm belief that everyone has a lot to learn from each other, no matter their age or background.
